Conscript soldier dies in Nagorno-Karabakh

Garegin Babakekhyan, a soldier of the Defence Army of Nagorno-Karabakh, died from a fatal gunshot wound, and an investigation into the circumstances of the incident is underway, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Nagorno-Karabakh reports today.

Last night, the incident has occurred at a post of a military unit deployed southeast of the Defence Army.

"Garegin Babakekhyan, born in 2000, died from a fatal gunshot wound which he got under the unclear circumstances," the MoD of Nagorno-Karabakh reported on its official website as translated from Armenian by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

It is noted that "the investigation is underway to find out the details of the incident."

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 10, an Armenian soldier was killed on the border with Azerbaijan. The Ministry of Defence of Armenia announced that soldier Zograb Sianosyan was fatally wounded in a shelling attack from the Azerbaijani side.
