Law enforcers report prevention of terror act in Stavropol Territory

The FSB has reported that one of the supporters of the "Islamic State"* was killed, and his companion was detained. According to the FSB, the suspects were plotting a terror act. The special operation took place in an apartment building located in the city of Neftekumsk, the leader of the region announced.

The supporters of the "Islamic State"* plotted an attack on policemen and a terror act to be committed in crowded places in the Stavropol Territory.

"In Neftekumsk, one of the [militants] was detained, while the second rendered armed resistance and was [killed]," the FSB reports on its official website today.

A local resident and a native of Dagestan joined the ranks of the "Islamic State"*. During the special operation, FSB agents found and seized items and substances intended to manufacture an improvised explosive device (IED), weapons, and prohibited extremist books, the FSB reports.

No civilians were injured, reported Vladimir Vladimirov, the leader of the region.
