Karabakh soldier wounded in conflict zone

Araik Shakhpazyan, a soldier of the Defence Army, was wounded by a shot from the Azerbaijani side, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Nagorno-Karabakh reported.

On April 5, Araik Shakhpazyan, a 20-year-old soldier, got a gunshot wound on the defensive site of a military unit of the Nagorno-Karabakh Defence Army. The soldier's condition is rated as satisfactory.

The Nagorno-Karabakh MoD called on the Baku authorities to refrain from provocations and claimed that "in case of an aggravation of the situation, all responsibility will fall on Azerbaijan."

Earlier, the OSCE has announced suspending monitoring in the Karabakh conflict zone because of the restrictions imposed in connection with the spread of the coronavirus infection.

The pandemic became a good reason to stop the "useless" monitoring, believes political analyst Vladimir Zakharov.

OSCE missions regularly visited the Karabakh conflict zone, but did not register any violations.
