Eleven persons hospitalized from border tent camp in Dagestan

Eleven Azerbaijani citizens from the temporary accommodation centre (TAC) in Dagestan, where they are waiting for the opening of the state border, were taken to the Derbent City Hospital. One of them was diagnosed as having coronavirus infection.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Azerbaijani citizens, who had failed to get to their homeland because of border closure, are waiting for the lifting of the quarantine measures in the border regions of Dagestan. The local Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) opened a tent camp for them. Azerbaijani citizens complain that they have to live in cramped conditions.

On May 29, the tent camp was visited by experts of the Ministry of Public Health (MPH) of Russia, who conducted a medical examination of the Azerbaijanis staying there, the press service of the Dagestani MPH has reported.

"11 people were taken to the Derbent City Hospital for diagnosis and treatment. The medical staff of the Derbent City and Derbent District Hospitals has organized testing of the people in the camp to identify the new coronavirus infection in them," the report said. One of those hospitalized tested positive for coronavirus.
