Over past 24 hours, 225 refugees return to Nagorno-Karabakh
Peacemakers have escorted another bus column with refugees from Yerevan to Stepanakert, making the total number of returnees to Nagorno-Karabakh exceeding 48,000, the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) has informed.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that by January 8 since the start of the peacemaking mission of Russian militaries in Nagorno-Karabakh, the total number of refugees who had returned from Yerevan to Stepanakert reached 47,834 persons.
Today, the Russian MoD has reported that the total number of refugees who returned to Nagorno-Karabakh to their permanent residences has reached 48,059 people. "Russian peacemakers have accompanied the next convoy with refugees. <...> 225 refugees were delivered from Yerevan to Stepanakert by buses over the past 24 hours," says the statement posted on the MoD's website.
Let us remind you that the search for the bodies of the dead continues in the battle area in parallel. By January 6, Karabakh rescuers found bodies of 1188 persons who perished in the territories that passed over under Azerbaijan's control; there are civilians among them, an official from the Emergency Service of Nagorno-Karabakh has reported.
