Opposition activist reports detention of relatives after rally in Yerevan
After the opposition rally in Yerevan, law enforcers detained brothers of Ishkhan Sagatelyan, the coordinator of the "Movement to Save Motherland", the oppositionist himself has informed.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 23, the above oppositional movement decided to remove their tents from Bagramyan Avenue in Yerevan, explaining this by the concern about the convenience for townspeople, but announced new street protests. On March 28, the opposition held a protest action in Yerevan, in which several thousand residents of Armenia took part.
Ishkhan Sagatelyan, the coordinator of the "Movement to Save Motherland", announced the detention of his relatives after the rally held in central Yerevan. "After today's rally in central Yerevan [law enforcers] attacked my brother and cousin, and then detained them. Nikol [Pashinyan], don't even think that you can put pressure on us with violence. It won't work!" the "News.am" gives a translation of Sagatelyan's statement posted on the Facebook today.
Mr Sagatelyan has accompanied his statement with a video clip that shows several law enforcers who pounced on the man. Several law enforcers are also detaining a woman a few meters away. The detained man lies face down on the sidewalk, his hands are handcuffed.
