Rights defenders report that relatives of Magamadov and Isaev are inclined to "honour killing"

Law enforcers are persuading relatives of Salekh Magamadov and Ismail Isaev, arrested in Chechnya, to commit an "honour killing", the Russian LGBT Network has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 4, 2021, law enforcers took Magamadov and his then underage brother Ismail Isaev from Nizhny Novgorod to Chechnya. Now, they are kept in SIZO (pre-trial prison) No. 2 in Grozny on suspicion of helping a militant from Aslan Byutukaev's grouping.

Chechen law enforcers are persuading relatives of Magamadov and Isaev to commit the so-called "honour killings" of them, Veronika Lapina, an activist of the "Russian LGBT Network", told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to her story, the point is about brothers' distant relatives.

Human rights defenders have learned about the pressure on Magamadov brothers' relatives from relatives' close friends, Tim Bestsvet, the press secretary of the "Russian LGBT Network", told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. The sources' names are not disclosed because of potential pressure on them, he has stressed.
