Islam Vagabov detained in Dagestan

Dagestan police have detained a mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter, Islam Vagabov, who was put on the wanted list after a brawl in Makhachkala, the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 15, Magomed Bisavaliev, the editor-in-chief of the "Dagestan" magazine, announced the death of a nephew of Mukhu Aliev, a former president of Dagestan, after the nephew was beaten up by an MMA fighter. On June 16, the Dagestani MIA put the MMA fighter, Islam Vagabov, on the wanted list within the case of a brawl in Makhachkala. At the same time, one of the brawl participants was detained; he is in hospital, his life is out of danger, the MIA has noted. A source has clarified that the patient is Mr Aliev's nephew. The reason for beating his was a domestic conflict, law enforcers explained on June 16.

Islam Vagabov was detained by policemen in Dagestan, the regional MIA reports. "Dagestani policemen detained the second suspect, who had been earlier put on the federal wanted list," the MIA reported in its Instagram page at night of June 22.

In its Instagram page, the Dagestani MIA also posted a video clip with the brawl. It shows four men and one woman. The men came up to the woman; then, they all stand in a circle. After that, one of the men begins intensely beating up another one. Those present pull him aside. However, after a while, he again pounces on his opponent. The social network users who left comments to the video clip were outraged by Vagabov's behaviour.
