Video about child abuse in a boarding school provokes public outcry in Ingushetia

In Ingushetia, inmates of a boarding school for mentally retarded children are being regularly beaten, former employees of the boarding school report after a video of child abuse has been made public. The boarding school administration called the posted video an attempt to discredit the collective.

According to the newspaper “Sovershenno Sekretno” (Top Secret), the Troitskoye boarding school “still accommodates mentally retarded 40-year-old women, who do not have the right to be there, since the boarding school is intended for teenagers under 18 years of age.”

The newspaper’s article contains a YouTube video depicting a 35-year-old female inmate strangling an 11-year-old child.

Following the preliminary investigation, it was concluded that the incident took place in May, and the video depicts inmates of the boarding school suffering from severe forms of mental disorder.

After being transferred to a psychoneurological boarding school, people with mental disorders often face an even more difficult life than in orphanages, up to complete “dehumanization,” the newspaper “Novaya Gazeta” reports.

The assumption that a teacher was strangling a child was rejected by Malika Daurbekova, the deputy principal for educational work of the boarding school. “The footage has been edited ... All this is being done to make things lively for the principal in order to discredit the boarding school,” said Malika Daurbekova as quoted by the “360” TV Channel.
