After returning from Syria, Dagestani children handed over to relatives
Thirteen children brought back from Syria have been handed over to their relatives in Dagestan, said Marina Ezhova, the children’s ombudsperson in the region.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 3, a total of 23 children were returned from Syria.
Of those, 13 children were handed over to their relatives in Dagestan, Ms Ezhova has reported. "13 children are from Dagestan; all of them, in accordance with the procedure established by law, were transferred to their legal representatives – guardians and trustees from among the closest blood relatives. <...> Before that, they underwent a full medical examination in Moscow; <...> all the children are relatively healthy, no serious problems have been identified. All of them are now at home, except for one family, which is still on the way," the TASS quoted Marina Ezhova as saying in the evening on July 9.
The children are from 2 to 17 years old; they will receive further assistance already in Dagestan – a psychologist, social educator, doctor, law enforcer and clergyman will be appointed to support to each child, Ms Ezhova has concluded.
