In Rostov-on-Don, the Southern District Military Court found Murad Abdullagadjiev, a resident of Dagestan, guilty of swearing allegiance to the leader of a terrorist organization and participating in its activities. “It was found that in February 2020, Murad Abdullagadjiev swore allegiance to the leader of the ‘Islamic State’ (a terrorist organization, banned in Russia by the court, – note of the ‘Caucasian Knot’). The defendant used a messenger to send an audio message swearing allegiance to the IS* leader. Murad Abdullagadjiev participated in the activities of the IS* until his detention by law enforcers on April 2, 2020,” the press service for the Southern District Military Court reports.
The defendant was sentenced to 11 years of imprisonment in a high-security penal colony.
