Kadyrov gives his daughter one of most titled horses in Russia
The leader of Chechnya bought the most titled tinker stallion in Russia for his stable, and the horse became a birthday present for his daughter.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that own horses are one of the sources of income for Ramzan Kadyrov. According to the “Transparency International”, in the period from 2014 to 2018 alone, the leader of Chechnya got more than 98 million roubles in race prize money. According to Ramzan Kadyrov, one of the horses was presented to him by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Crown Prince of Dubai. According to human rights defenders, the cost of the horse significantly exceeds the allowable value of gifts that an official in Russia can receive.
Breeder Arina Libontova, a previous owner of the horse, wrote on Instagram that she would not be able to provide the stallion with “such a luxurious life” as in the Ramzan Kadyrov’s stable.
In March 2017, journalists found out that Ramzan Kadyrov’s horse stable was located in the village of Krabčice in the Czech Republic. Due to the sanctions imposed on Ramzan Kadyrov, five of his horses worth 6 million US dollars have been unable to leave the Czech Republic since 2014.
It should be noted that the construction of hippodromes began in Chechnya in 2007. In August 2020, Ramzan Kadyrov decided to expand the hippodrome under construction in Grozny by adding another 600 to the 1600-seat grandstand. Instagram users criticized the decision of the Chechen leader and advised the republic’s authorities to first solve the problem of unemployment.
