Azerbaijan hands ten militaries over to Armenia in exchange for minefield maps

Ten Armenian militaries captured on November 16 have been handed by Azerbaijan over to Armenia in exchange for minefield maps.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 16, armed clashes broke out on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. According to official data, seven Azerbaijani soldiers were killed; and six soldiers perished on the Armenian side, 13 others were captured; and 24 are still regarded as missing.

Earlier, Azerbaijani authorities repeatedly accused the Armenian party of refusing to provide the minefield maps. In June, in exchange for minefield maps in the Agdam District, Azerbaijan returned 15 Armenian soldiers captured during the 2020 autumn hostilities. On July 3, in exchange for minefield maps in the Fizuli District (covering the territories of the Gadrut and Martuni Districts of Nagorno-Karabakh, – note of the "Caucasian Knot") and the Zangelan District, Azerbaijan returned other 15 Armenian soldiers.

"On December 4, Azerbaijan, guided by the principles of humanism, handed over ten militaries of Armenian origin to Armenia," the Azerbaijani State Security Service (SSS) has reported.

The SSS has noted that on November 26, Azerbaijan handed two persons, including one military, over to Armenia.
