Putin discusses law enforcers' work with Kadyrov
One of the topics discussed during a meeting of Russian President, Vladimir Putin, with the Chechen leader, Ramzan Kadyrov, held in the Kremlin was the work of law enforcement bodies, Dmitry Peskov, the presidential press secretary, has informed.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night on February 3, it became known that the Russian president held a meeting with the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, in Moscow, although earlier the Putin's press secretary had assured that such a meeting was not planned. Kadyrov came to the Kremlin amid a scandal caused by threats voiced out by Chechen authorities to the Yangulbaev family, human rights defenders and journalists.
On Wednesday, February 2, the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, held a meeting in the Kremlin with the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov. In particular, they discussed the issues related to the work of law enforcement bodies, Dmitry Peskov has stated today, adding that the leaders also discussed "in the applied sense, economic affairs and issues of the socioeconomic development of the republic."
Mr Peskov has also stressed that the president is aware of the request of the "Ekho Moskvy" to sort out Kadyrov's threats to journalists, and that the Kremlin does not believe that the situation in Chechnya is out of control.
