Residents of Georgia demand from Kremlin to stop military operation in Ukraine

In Tbilisi, about 10,000 residents took part in the protest action against Russia's military operation in Ukraine. The Georgian authorities have expressed solidarity with the Ukrainian ones; and Georgian activists took to social media to criticize the Kremlin.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a military operation in connection with the situation in Donbass. Thousands marched in support of Ukraine in Tbilisi.

On February 24, Tbilisi townspeople gathered near the Republic Square to protest against the Russian military operation. There were many young people there. Many came with families and small children.

"We don't want a repeat of the war. We can only protest peacefully. Let the world see that we are against the war and for the peaceful childhood of our kids," said one of the protesters.

"I love the Russian language and Russian culture. The Russian people are not to blame for this war. The ruling elite are to blame. But we must not allow the war to repeat again in Georgia," said another participant in the action.

According to the "Formula" TV Channel, about 10,000 people took part in the action.

Russia will face severe consequences after its military operation in Ukraine, Giya Nodiya, a political analyst, believes.
