Authorities report deaths of five Dagestani militaries in Ukraine

In battles in Ukraine, the natives of the Gunib, Karabudakhkent, Dokuzparin, Kaitag and Khasavyurt Districts have perished, as reported by the administrations of the above Dagestani districts.

On February 26, the head of Dagestan, Sergey Melikov, announced the first death in Ukraine of a native of Dagestan – the officer, Nurmagomed Gadjimagomedov. On March 2, the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) reported that 498 Russian military servicemen have perished in the special operation.

Gadjimurad Makhmudov, 21, a native of the village of Salta, perished in Ukraine, the district administration has informed.

Rashid Umalatov, a 31-year-old resident of the village of Adanak in the Karabudakhkent District, perished in the military operation in Ukraine. He grew up in a family of teachers, and recently got married.

Corporal Rustam Taimazov, a native of the village of Dzhavgat, Kaitag District, has also perished in the special operation in Ukraine. He was 31, and has left his wife and two small children.

Thus, since the start of the military operation in Ukraine, it became known about the deaths of at least 17 natives of Dagestan.
