Court attaches photos of a picket in Moscow to case against human rights defender Orlov

In Moscow, a court attached to a case against human rights defender Oleg Orlov, accused of violating the order of picketing, photographs of his picket and postponed the court hearing to March 28.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on March 6, law enforcers detained Oleg Orlov, a member of the board of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) “Memorial” *, with a poster in Moscow. He was taken to a police department along with participants of the protest against the special military operation in Ukraine.

Oleg Orlov spent eight hours in court, waiting for a court hearing on his case, but in the end, it was postponed, the HRC “Memorial” * reported on the “Polny PTs” Telegram channel.

Let us remind you that on December 29, 2021, the Moscow City Court considered that the HRC “Memorial” * justifies extremism and terrorism and pronounced a decision to liquidate the NGO. The defence filed an appeal, and it is to be considered on March 22.

* The organization has been put by the Russian Ministry of Justice (MoJ) on the register of NCOs performing the functions of a foreign agent.
