Military experts explain specifics Kadyrov people's mission in Ukraine

Units of Chechen fighters in Ukraine play a supporting role by carrying out cleansings, searching the territory and guarding objects; they don't perform the functions of assault squads or military police, experts have explained.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 8, Ramzan Kadyrov reported that Chechen special fighters had occupied a Ukrainian dwelling settlement and moved on.

"Chechen units in Ukraine are performing the duties of the 'Rosgvardiya' (Russian National Guard), which include searching the territory and making cleansings," Alexander Perendjiev, a military political analyst, has explained, adding that another task is to guard special facilities.

When storming cities, such units can be used not as assault squads, but rather as sabotage and reconnaissance groups, Azad Isazade, a military expert, has noted.

If Chechen militaries take part in "establishing order" in Ukrainian cities under the control of Russian troops, it will irritate the local population and complicate the situation, said Gennady Gudkov, a retired FSB colonel.

Let us remind you that in Ukraine Chechen militaries are trying to use the usual Chechen tactics of total checks. One of them reported that Chechen law enforcers are examining the contents of refugees' smartphones.
