Residents of Georgia say farewell to volunteers who perished in Ukraine

The bodies of the Georgian militaries, Giya Beriashvili and David Ratiani, who volunteered to fight in Ukraine, were delivered to Tbilisi Airport. The farewell ceremony was attended by hundreds Georgian residents, including President, Salome Zurabishvili.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that protests are periodically held in Georgia against the Russian special operation in Ukraine.

Beriashvili and Ratiani perished on March 18 during the hostilities near the town of Irpin near Kiev, the RIA "News-Georgia" has reported.

The Georgian President, Salome Zurabishvili, has expressed her condolences to the casualties' families; she was the only official who appeared at the airport. Members of the pro-government "Georgian Dream" Party visited Beriashvili's and Ratiani's relatives, the "Echo of the Caucasus"* has reported.
