Russian MoD reports Azerbaijan's violation of contact line in Nagorno-Karabakh
In the vicinity of the dwelling settlement of Yarymdja in the Mardakert District of Nagorno-Karabakh, Azerbaijan has violated the contact line, the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) has stated.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh aggravated on March 8, when Khramort villagers were evacuated because of shelling. After March 15, they began returning home, but on March 24, Nagorno-Karabakh announced that Azerbaijani militaries had violated the contact line in the Askeran District; and women and children were evacuated from the communities of Parukh and Khramort.
"A violation by the Azerbaijani party of the established contact line has been recorded in the vicinity of the settlement of Yarymdja (Mardakert District)," says the bulletin of the Russian MoD about the actions of Russian peacemakers published in the evening on April 15.
The command of the Russian peacemaking contingent, jointly with officials of Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh, is taking measures to settle the incident, the MoD has informed.
The bulletin also notes that peacemakers have escorted four columns of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces through the Lachin Corridor: two in the northern and two in the southern directions. They also conducted patrolling of four routes in the Askeran, Mardakert and Martuni Districts, and in the Lachin Corridor.
