The commander of the North-Caucasian District of the "Rosgvargiya" (Russian National Guard) and the head of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) have handed Orders of Courage over to the families of the KBR natives who perished in the special operation.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that by April 14, the KBR authorities had confirmed the deaths of at least eight republic's natives in Ukraine.
Orders of Courage were awarded posthumously to Junior Police Sergeant Alim Bachiev, Senior Sergeant Albert Gekhov, Senior Lieutenant Renat Kalazhokov, Lieutenant Colonel Aslan Keshtov, Major Ratmir Kudaev and Ensign Anuar Etezov.
"Our brothers are defending our Fatherland with honour and courage," Kazbek Kokov, the KBR head, wrote on his Telegram channel.
Lieutenant-General Sergey Zakharov, the Commander of the North-Caucasian "Rosgvardiya" District, has expressed his condolences to the casualties' families and friends.
"By showing heroism and courage, ignoring the threat to themselves, they sacrificed their lives for the sake of our Motherland," the District's website has quoted General Zakharov as stating.
