Saakashvili transferred from prison to private clinic
Former Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili has been transferred from the Rustavi prison for medical examination to the “Vivamed” clinic in Tbilisi.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 27, doctors claimed a worsening of Saakashvili's health condition, after which his supporters demanded to transfer him to a foreign clinic for medical treatment.
Several cars accompanied by the police drove out from the territory of the prison in Rustavi, where Mikhail Saakashvili was kept. The convoy also included vehicles of the penitentiary service, the “Rustavi-2” TV Channel reports on its website today.
Mikhail Saakashvili was transferred from the prison in Rustavi to the “Vivamed” clinic in Tbilisi. Security measures have been increased on the territory of the hospital, there is a concentration of the police, and the area at the entrance is cordoned off with a special tape. The hospital has been taking measures to receive Mikhail Saakashvili, and a special ward has been prepared on the fifth floor, the “Formula” TV Channel reports on its website today.
