Russian Federation creates Council for defending the rights of Russians living in non-recognized republics

The Council for defending the rights of Russian citizens living in non-recognized republics will include representatives of three Republics - Abkhazia, Transdniestria and South Ossetia.

The public Council is created under the initiative of the Commission for International Cooperation and Diplomacy of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

It is supposed that each of the Republics will delegate to the Council its representatives of the legislative and executive branches of power, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), mass media and academia.

The Council sets its aim "to define the range of main problems, which the citizens of the non-recognized countries are facing, with participation of the ministries and agencies of Russia, and to develop particular solution and settlement mechanisms."
