Kadyrov reports about construction of bases for new battalions
The leader of Chechnya posted a report on the construction of bases for new battalions. Two battalions, “Vostok-Akhmat” and “Zapad-Akhmat”, have been already been manned, the “Chechnya Today” reports.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on June 26, Ramzan Kadyrov announced that four military battalions – “Sever-Akhmat”, “Yug-Akhmat”, “Zapad-Akhmat”, and “Vostok-Akhmat” – would be formed in Chechnya, which would include “exclusively Chechen guys.” On June 28, Ramzan Kadyrov announced that the “Zapad-Akhmat” had already been manned. The creation of battalions pointed to Ramzan Kadyrov’s special status, analysts note.
“The Regional Public Foundation named after Hero of Russia Akhmat-Khadji Kadyrov finances the construction of bases for new military formations,” the leader of Chechnya emphasized.
According to Ramzan Kadyrov’s Telegram channel, Magomed Daudov, the chair of the Chechen parliament, visited the patriotic youth base in the village of Benoy, where “young people, including children of employees who perished in the line of duty” are being trained.
The fact that Magomed Daudov supervises the creation of new battalions indicates the expanded powers of the Chechen authorities related to providing the army with personnel, due to the need for fighters from the republic, Ruslan Kutaev, the president of the Assembly of Caucasian Nations, notes.
