Complaint of Chechen villagers to Kadyrov reminds of practice of public apologies

Residents of the village of Gikalo asked the leader of Chechnya to help connect to the gas pipeline and electricity networks. According to the villagers, their appeals to local officials do not bring any results. Instagram* users suggested that the appeal to Ramzan Kadyrov could be followed by an apology from the villagers.

One of the villagers said on the video that the people were talking about new houses in the village.

“There is neither gas nor electricity supply here, and people have been living here for years … No problems are solved, and there are only promises,” the man said.

In their comments, some Instagram* users expressed their indignation about the situation. We live in the 21st century, and villagers have no gas and water, I can’t even believe that,” wrote user amsterdam01_.

Other Instagram* users suggested that “the authors of the appeal can be called on the local TV Channel and publicly reprimanded.”

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on September 5, 2021, a video was posted on Instagram* with complaints about water supply in the village of Alkhazurovo. On the same day, another video appeared on the social media, in which the elders condemned a resident of the village for complaining about problems with the water supply. Meanwhile, the problem with the water supply was made public and attracted the attention of the authorities, who promised to solve it.

Earlier, complaints also ended for Chechen natives with public apologies. So, in December 2015, Aishat Inaeva, who complained about the difficult situation of residents of Chechnya, retracted her words and asked for forgiveness from Ramzan Kadyrov.

* On March 21, the Tverskoi Court of Moscow banned the activities in Russia of the Meta Company, owning Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, in connection with extremist activities.
