Stavropol activist reports pressure on her mother

Policemen have repeatedly visited the mother of Darya Andreeva, an activist from the town of Georgievsk, insisting that Darya and her husband, who had been fined for discrediting the army, return to Russia. The activist has treated these visits as law enforcers' pressure.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the spouses Darya Andreeva and Ilya Nikonorov from Georgievsk, fined by 30,000 roubles each under the article on discrediting the Russian Army, were forced to leave Russia due to law enforcers' pressure.

Darya told about policeman's several visits to her mother, who lives in Georgievsk. The first visit was made in early August, the last one – at the end of this month. She is sure that policemen are trying to put pressure on her mother in order to force the spouses to return to Russia.

However, they are not planning to return to Russia in the near future, Darya has explained. She hasn't named the country where the family lives now, but noted that she was happy with the move. "In the new country, it's easier to walk along the streets; policemen here don't scare you, but inspire confidence; our habit of 'typical oppositionists' – never to go home directly – has disappeared," Ms Andreeva has explained.
