Mobilization endangers wellbeing of Dagestani families
The residents of Dagestan, who have received summons from commissariats (military registration and enlistment offices), said that they were worried about their wives and children, who would be left without their support.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that military commissars in Dagestan have forbidden those who are subject to mobilization to leave their dwelling settlements. After the announcement of mobilization, lines of conscripts can be seen near military commissariats in Derbent and Chechnya. On September 22, residents of the Babayurt District (Dagestan) blocked the federal highway in protest against mobilization. The first groups of mobilized people were sent from Makhachkala and Kaspiysk.
On September 22, buses with mobilized personnel departed from the cities of Derbent, Kizilyurt, Izberbash, Kizlyar andKhasavyurt; it follows from the video posted on the Telegram channel "ChP KAVKAZ/News of the Caucasus". Their wives and children saw them off; many were in tears.
Raisat, a woman from Makhachkala, said that her husband received a summons from the military commissariat. "We have three children. He did not serve in the army; he passed his military training at the university military division. I can't imagine what will happen to us if he is conscripted," the woman said.
Murad, a Makhachkala resident, has not yet received the summons. "I finished my army service back in 2000; I'm 40 years old, and I'm an artilleryman by my military profession. I'm afraid that they will call me up for service. Who will maintain my family and pay for the apartment?" he asked.
