Governor of Astrakhan Region reacts to complaints of mobilized compatriots
Mobilized residents of Astrakhan, who now stay in North Ossetia, have asked Igor Babushkin, Governor of the Astrakhan Region, to provide them with sleeping bags. The head of the region promised to provide the mobilized people with sleeping bags “in the near future.” According to the Governor, the Astrakhan residents who are being trained in Chechnya have also requested other equipment as well.
The appeal of the Astrakhan residents has been posted in the “Astrakhan Online” Telegram channel.
The head of the region has reported that “the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of the Russian Federation provides the soldiers with the necessary equipment, but there are things that are not included in the regular equipment supply.” Nevertheless, Igor Babushkin has promised that “in the near future,” sleeping bags and other humanitarian aid will be sent to Vladikavkaz at the expense of a charitable foundation.
On October 1, Igor Babushkin reported that those mobilized in the Astrakhan Region had been sent for training to Chechnya.
The “Caucasian Knot” has also reported that after the start of the mobilization in the Astrakhan Region, hundreds of cars of those who decided to leave Russia for Kazakhstan accumulated near the village of Karaozek. On September 28, a high alert regime was introduced in the Krasnoyarsk District of the Astrakhan Region. According to residents of Astrakhan, people spend several days in the line at the border between the Astrakhan Region and Kazakhstan, and there are no grocery stores, first-aid posts, and toilets throughout the traffic jam.
