Mother of Volgograd teenager tells details of his repeated detention

The 14-year-old teenager from Volgograd, who was mistaken by law enforcers for a drug dealer in August and brutally detained, was again illegally detained in November, his mother has stated. According to her story, psychological pressure was exerted on her son; now he is forced to visit a psychologist.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 10, the teen's mother complained that law enforcers had used force against her son by mistaking him for a drug pawnbroker. The boy ended up in hospital after that; and his mother demanded that the perpetrators be punished, but a service check found law enforcers' actions as justified. In November, the woman said that law enforcers had again used force on him; and doctors fixed traumas on the schoolboy.

Nina is a mother of many children; she is raising three minor children alone. On November 3, 2022, law enforcers detained her eldest son. Such detention was repeated six months later; and because of them the boy "received a psychological trauma."

"There were no apologies from law enforcers. I came there, when my son was detained ... It’s lawlessness and horror what they are doing there," the woman was indignant.

Nina said that she asked law enforcers to release her son. But they objected, demanding from her to sign a certain document, which she was not allowed to read.

She has added that she suffers from diabetes; she has a Category III invalid; and because of her sufferings, her hypertension has worsened.

Sergey Ivaschenko, a lawyer, has pointed out that if a teenager was brought to the police station for questioning as a witness, the interrogation should have been conducted in the presence of a psychologist, a teacher and his mother.

"It follows from the woman's testimony that neither specialists nor herself, as the mother, were invited to the police station," the lawyer said, also pointing out that the interrogation of the teenager should not have been conducted continuously for more than two hours.
