Tourists outraged by the new restrictions at "Rosa Khutor" resort in Sochi
The sale of tickets to the ice rink has been suspended due to the large number of visitors, the administration of the "Rosa Khutor" resort has announced amid the limited sales of ski passes. Tourists paid money for the opportunity to relax, but fail to receive services, guests of the resort have indicated.
On December 31, 2022, due to insufficient snow cover at the "Rosa Khutor", only nine out of 66 ski passes were opened. On January 2, the resort administration announced that ski pass sales had been stopped due to the maximum number of people present on the ski slopes. Such announcements should be made in advance, guests of the resort were indignant.
They had planned to launch the slopes at the "Rosa Khutor" resort on December 29, but the opening was postponed until December 31 due to insufficient snow cover. The occupancy of hotels in the ski resorts of Sochi reaches 60%, and almost 100% of the rooms were booked for the New Year holidays, hotel employees told the "Caucasian Knot" in December.
Now, the sale of tickets to the ice skating rink has been suspended "due to the large number of visitors," the administration of "Rosa Khutor" announced on January 5 in its Telegram channel.
Earlier on the day, the resort administration announced that sales of ski passes at the box offices and on the resort's website were closed tentatively until January 9, and sales of ski passes for January 6 at the reception offices of the resort's hotels were stopped, as the limit had been reached.
Many commentators have expressed their dissatisfaction with the new restrictions and were outraged by the restrictions on the sale of ski passes.
"Maybe it's reasonable to close the 'Rosa Khutor' for tourists for a while, isn't it? Since the administration is unable to cope with its job. Or is there a record inflow of tourists this season?" the user New Age has asked.
