Orphan from Volgograd complains about problems with obtaining housing
Alexander, a resident of Volgograd, has complained that after graduating from the orphanage, through the fault of the school administration, he found himself without a registration, and that authorities for a long time failed to provide him with housing due to him by the law.
Alexander filed a complaint with the Association for the Protection of Orphans' Rights.
"It turned out that the school administration had made a mistake by giving him permanent registration at a hostel, but they failed to leave him the right to live there," the Association has explained in its page in the VKontakte social network.
In a video posted in the "Defence of Children" YouTube channel, Alexander himself has stated that he had lived with his parents until the age of ten, and then was placed in the orphanage. The parents have passed away.
In 1999, he graduated from an orphanage located in the village of Rudnya and entered the technical school to be trained as a gas and electric welder. After leaving the orphanage, Alexander did not apply for housing, as he had registration from the school. According to his story, he thought that this was his housing, which will be assigned to him forever.
Recently, Alexander ended up in hospital after frostbiting his legs. After being discharged from the hospital, he ended up in a charity home.
He has clarified that his legs were amputated and now he is applying for the disability category. Alexander asked the activists to help him with medicines.
Let us remind you that in Volgograd orphans, whom authorities should have provided with housing, repeatedly complained about violations of their housing rights. Thus, in 2020, a total of 17 orphans complained to the prosecutor's office that they had been waiting for their due housing for a long time.
