Two journalists detained in Azerbaijan
Today, Gambar Gambarov and Etimad Bydagov, employees of the Institute of Reporters' Freedom and Safety, have been detained by securities from the Azerbaijani President's machinery.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed at the Institute of Reporters' Freedom and Safety that the detention was made when the journalists were filming the protest action undertaken by citizen Magrur Badalov. The latter has unfolded a poster and demanded from Ramiz Mekhtiev, head of the presidential administration, to take measures against the persons who were extorting 5,000 US dollars from Badalov.
Having seen the event, the securities of the presidential machinery detained both M. Badalov and the journalists. All the detainees were delivered to the security department of the administration of the Azerbaijani President, where they are currently kept.
