At trial, captured soldiers of the "Azov" Regiment* refuse to plead guilty
Most of the 22 defendants in the case of the Ukrainian "Azov" Regiment*, which is being heard at the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don, have refused to plead guilty.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in May the case of 24 members of the Ukrainian "Azov" Regiment* was submitted to the above Military Court for consideration. All of them are charged under the articles "Forcible seizure of power" and "Organization of the activities of a terrorist organization and participation therein"; nine of them are also charged under the article of "Training for the purpose of carrying out terrorist activities". Nine of the 24 figurants are women.
Only 22 defendants are now involved in the trial: two other figurants had been exchanged, the "Interfax-South" has noted.
