Advocate Akhilgov reports being called to Centre “E” due to accusation report

The reason for an accusation report against advocate Kaloi Akhilgov was his comments in the media, recognized as foreign agents. An author of the accusation report suggested that Kaloi Akhilgov and his colleagues refuse to speak in the media.

Advocate Kaloi Akhilgov, who is well-known, in particular, for defending leaders of the Ingush protest, reports being called to the Centre for Combating Extremism (also known as Centre “E”) because of his appearances in the media. According to Kaloi Akhilgov, he was summoned to the Centre “E” because of his speech on the air of a TV Channel, recognized as a foreign agent and later an undesirable organization. The speech had been delivered before the TV Channel was declared undesirable.

Kaloi Akhilgov wrote on his Telegram channel that he was called for a conversation because of the accusation report written by “Anna Vasilievna Korobkova.” The person is well-known as an author of numerous accusation reports against Russian scientists and human rights defenders who acted as experts in independent media. The person operating under the above-mentioned name described herself as a “professional unpaid police informer,” reported anthropologist Alexandra Arkhipova*.

“Anna Korobkova” stated that she sent more than 700 accusation reports only “during the first year of the special military operation.” The informer claims that she looks through all the stories of the media recognized as foreign agents and targets speakers living in Russia. The goal is to “create an atmosphere of fear, in which any foreign agent speaking in the media begins to think whether his or her employer or the authorities will be informed,” wrote “Anna Korobkova” as quoted Alexandra Arkhipova* on her Telegram channel.

“Anna Korobkova” explained the motive for her actions by the unwillingness to pay reparations to Ukraine in the future. At the same time, she states that sending accusation reports is “in her blood”, since her grandfather was an “informant of the NKVD”.
