Appeals in support of Dagestani coach Arslanbekov left without response

Officials and law enforcement bodies did not respond to requests to close the criminal case against Timur Arslanbekov, a coach from Buynaksk, for attacking a law enforcer. The defence has repeatedly filed appeals against the refusals to investigate the beating of Timur Arslanbekov by the police, but has not succeeded in seeking an institution of a criminal case.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on August 23, a video message was posted on the Internet in which armed participants of the special military operation appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov with a request to take control of the investigation into the case against Timur Arslanbekov, who was accused of attacking a law enforcer. Earlier, relatives and friends of Timur Arslanbekov appealed to President Putin with a request to stop the criminal prosecution of the coach and investigate the circumstances under which Timur Arslanbekov was beaten by the police.

Timur Arslanbekov was detained in the summer of 2022. The Dagestani coach complained that he had been beaten by the police, but he himself became accused of attacking a law enforcer.

The appeals recorded by the participants of the special military operation (SMO) in defence of Timur Arslanbekov, the coach from Buynaksk, accused of attacking a law enforcer, remained without reaction.

In his turn, Eldar Temirkhanov, an advocate of Timur Arslanbekov, stated that the videos proving that Timur Arslanbekov was not guilty were discovered during the examination of the materials of the criminal case. The advocate emphasized that while being questioned, witnesses for the defence spoke in detail during interviews about the use of violence against Timur Arslanbekov.
