Kadyrov reacts to US sanctions against his mother

The head of Chechnya said that he would not forgive the US sanctions imposed on his mother, Aimani Kadyrova, and demanded that they be lifted, while treating the sanctions as "painless."

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 24, the US Treasury imposed sanctions on 11 Russian citizens, including the mother of the head of Chechnya, Aimani Kadyrova, the Chechen Ombudsperson, Mansur Soltaev, Muslim Khuchiev, the Chechen Premier, and Zamid Chalaev, the commander of the police regiment named after Akhmat Kadyrov.

After the start of the special military operation (SMO) in Ukraine, sanctions were repeatedly imposed on Kadyrov's relatives and Chechen officials. In September 2022, the United States tightened the sanctions against Kadyrov, extending them to his wife and three daughters, as well as to Fatima Khazueva and Aminad Akhmadova, who were treated, in the sanctions list, as Kadyrov's wives.

"I've already ceased to be surprised at the illogical sanctions imposed by the USA and the West. And suddenly again – now my dear mother is on the list. The whole world knows that she is engaged only in charitable activities. Therefore, the American decision can only be regarded as a cynical disregard for all ethical norms," Ramzan Kadyrov wrote in his Telegram channel.

At the same time, he has treated the Chechen military campaigns as "US projects."
