Dagestani Muftiate reports on thousands of those who prayed for Palestinians
In Makhachkala, thousands have taken part in collective prayer for the Muslims of Palestine, the Muftiate of Dagestan has reported. Mass prayers for Palestinians were also held in mosques in Karachay-Cherkessia and Chechnya.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the aggravation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict evoked a response among Muslims in Northern Caucasus. Thus, on October 17, residents of Dagestan tried to hold a rally in a Makhachkala square, which was dispersed by law enforcers. On October 19, the Dagestani Muftiate called on Imams of local mosques to pray at their Friday namaz (prayer) for an end to the war.
Thousands of believers gathered at the Juma Mosque of Makhachkala for a collective namaz, or dua (prayer) "for Palestine and for all Muslims", the Muftiate of Dagestan has reported in its Telegram channel.
On October 27, mass prayers for war victims were held in all mosques of Karachay-Cherkessia, the "Arkhyz 24" TV channel has reported. "Thousands of believers sent their prayers to the innocent victims of the conflict and turned to the Almighty with a request to stop the bloodshed," says the TV channel's page in the "VKontakte" social network.
Thousands of believers come to mosques in Chechnya to pray for the people of Palestine. They are calling for an end to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, local residents have reported.
Every night, in all Chechen major mosques, about 150,000 Muslims pray "for the salvation of the residents of Palestine," the republic's Muftiate has reported.
