In June 2023, no armed conflict victims were recorded in Northern Caucasus
In June 2023, during the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus, there was no information about casualties or wounded persons. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from open sources.
In none of the regions of Northern Caucasus, namely, in Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, North Ossetia-Alania, Stavropol Territory and Chechnya, no armed incidents or conflict victims were recorded.
The presented statistics cannot reflect the number of victims with 100% accuracy. Not all the data makes it into news reports. It is not always possible to verify how true the statements of law enforcement bodies are; and new data about the events of the reporting period sometimes become known after the publication of statistics on the "Caucasian Knot".
Earlier, in May 2023, two people perished during the armed conflict. June is the second month of this year after January that passed without victims.
During Quarter II of 2023, six people were killed in the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus
In the period from April 1 to June 30, 2023, at least 14 people suffered during the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus, of whom six were killed and eight others were wounded. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from open sources.
On April 3, 2023, in a farm in Malgobek, law enforcers discovered a grouping of alleged participants in the attack on a traffic police post; but the suspects opened fire on law enforcers, wounded one of them and fled. The counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced in the Malgobek District of Ingushetia. On April 5, in the village of Zyazikov-Yurt, during a CTO, law enforcers came across a grouping of suspected militants. At an attempt to detain them, they resisted and opened fire. Three policemen were killed, the republic's Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reported. According to sources, eight more law enforcers were wounded. Also on April 5, it became known that the body of presumably Movsar Kottoev, who was wanted in the case of an attack on a traffic police post, had been found.
In May, the Dagestani MIA reported that an 18-year-old native of the village of Novolakskoye and a 20-year-old native of Kaspiysk resisted a detention attempt and were killed in a shootout. They found two grenades, a pistol and two knives on them. According to law enforcers, the young men had planned to attack law enforcers with these weapons. The police added that on May 11, these two young men attacked, near the village of Tsyisha, Kulinsky District, a taxi driver in order to capture his car. Employees of the FSB (Federal Security Service) and the MIA came to the conclusion that the attackers were "supporters of the religious extremist movement in Islam."
Earlier, in Quarter I of 2023, at least nine people suffered; 7 of them perished. And in Quarter II of 2022, two people fell victim to the armed conflict; both were killed.
