On November 20-26, one person perished and one was wounded in armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

During the week on November 20-26, 2023, at least one person perished and another one was wounded during the ongoing armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from open sources.

On November 22, during a counterterrorism operation (CTO) conducted in Sunzha, law enforcers shot dead a man who opened fire on them. The casualty was suspected of aiding Amirkhan Gurazhev and Adam Ozdoev, who were declared wanted after an attack on a DPS (traffic police) post located on the Ingush-North-Ossetian border. A law enforcer was wounded in the shootout.

Later, the press service of the Ingush branch of the Russian FSB (Federal Security Service) department reported that the person killed in the shootout was Kh. Ganiev, 33. The circumstances of the detention attempt of the alleged militants' accomplice and the law enforcer's wounding in the shootout raise questions about the training level of Ingush law enforcers, the security veterans interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" have stated.

The last time victims were reported on May 11, 2023. Then, according to the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), an 18-year-old native of the village of Novolakskoye and a 20-year-old native of the city of Kaspiysk resisted their detention attempt and were shot dead in a shootout.
