First group of forced migrants from Palestine arrives in Chechnya
More than 50 residents of Palestine arrived in Chechnya. Adult migrants will be offered jobs, and children will go to schools, announce the republic’s authorities.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that a working group has been created in Chechnya that is preparing to receive 250 refugees from Palestine, and places have been prepared to accommodate them at the children’s health camp “Mountain Spring” in the village of Avtury.
On November 15, the authorities of Chechnya reported that more than 68 million roubles had been raised during the charity event “Children of Chechnya for Children of Palestine”. The money will be used to purchase humanitarian aid for the Palestinians. According to local public sector employees’ reports, Chechen officials had to spend up to a third of their monthly salaries buying children’s crafts.
More than 50 residents of Palestine, including 27 children, arrived in Chechnya, the TASS reports.
“Furthermore, the second group is leaving tomorrow, and it will include more than 100 people,” announced Akhmed Dudaev, Minister of National Policy, External Relations, Press, and Information of Chechnya.
There are 38 natives of Russia and 13 Palestinians among the forced migrants who arrived in Chechnya.
Let us remind you that on November 21, the authorities of Dagestan also announced that the republic was ready to accept up to 200 refugees from Palestine. Forced migrants from Palestine will be granted refugee status.
The residents of Palestine who arrived in Dagestan asked to be provided with means of cellular communication and the Internet, as well as with necessary documents. Some of them announced their intention to apply for Russian citizenship.
