Natives of Ingushetia suspected of kidnapping resident of Dagestan
Two suspects have kidnapped, for mercenary reasons, a resident of Dagestan and held him in a Psychological Assistance Centre in Ingushetia, investigators have reported.
According to investigators, on August 15, 2023, two residents of Ingushetia came to the victim's home in a village of Khasavyurt District of Dagestan and, introducing themselves as policemen, handcuffed him and took him to the Psychological Assistance Centre in Ingushetia. There, the victim was held under threats and subjected to violence. On the sixth day, the man managed to escape, but the Centre staff brought him back; and he stayed in captivity until September 29, 2023, when his relatives freed him, the Department for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) has reported.
The above two residents of Ingushetia are suspected of "kidnapping a person by a group of persons by prior conspiracy for mercenary motives." One of them was arrested, the second was put on the wanted list, the Telegram channel of the above Department has reported.
