Abdurakhmanov, accused of setting fire to military registration and enlistment office, recants his testimony

At trial, Bogdan Abdurakhmanov, accused of setting fire to a military registration and enlistment office, claimed that he did not give the testimony that was read out earlier, but it had been written by an investigator. According to the defendant’s version, he did not mind what the investigator wrote, but when facing the accusation of a terror act, he reconsidered his attitude to the protocol, stated advocate Felix Wertegel.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on March 19, Boris Goncharenko confessed that he had prepared an incendiary mixture for Bogdan Abdurakhmanov, the second accused in the criminal case. On April 19, Bogdan Abdurakhmanov confirmed Boris Goncharenko’s testimony, saying that he was ready to carry out the plan alone.

The military registration and enlistment office building in Goryachiy Klyuch caught fire on October 6, 2022. Boris Goncharenko and Bogdan Abdurakhmanov are accused of arson, and the criminal case is being investigated under the article of terrorism. The public prosecutor believes that Boris Goncharenko committed the crime together with another person. However, Boris Goncharenko himself stated that he prepared the incendiary mixture, but did not participate in the arson of the military registration and enlistment office and was not aware how the other person planned to use it.

Advocate Felix Wertegel commented on Bogdan Abdurakhmanov’s words when the defendant took upon himself the idea of setting fire to the military registration and enlistment office. “His statement is very important and changes the essence of the trial. That means there was no grouping, as the investigator argues ... In this case, Boris Goncharenko will only be charged with complicity,” the advocate noted.

According to Olga Goncharenko, a mother of Boris Goncharenko, there is no direct pressure on her son in prison, but the main problem is poor conditions of detention, including a cell located in a basement, overcrowding, lack of sun, air, and walks.
