Okruashvili let out on $6-million bail
Early on Tuesday, October 9, after depositing a bail in the sum of 10 million laris (about 6 million US dollars) Irakliy Okruashvili, ex-Minister of Defence of Georgia, was released from Prison No. 7 in Tbilisi.
The policemen brought the former minister home. He refused to answer any journalists' questions, the "Interfax" informs.
After regaining his freedom, on demand of representatives of the Georgian Ombudsman, Irakliy Okruashvili underwent a medical examination. It has shown that Mr Okruashvili was not under the influence of any drugs during his interrogation.
Eka Beseliya, a former advocate of the ex-minister, was insisting that Okruashvili's behaviour was inadequately when he was answering the questions of the law enforcement agents. However, according to Georgian Ombudsman's representatives, the only Okruashvili's complaint was that of a cold.
