Ingushetia: circumstances of local resident's death after detention are investigated
A check is underway on the fact of death of the person who was arrested on suspicion of participating in illegal armed formations. The resident of Ingushetia died yesterday, on September 9, at the Interior Department (OVD).
The "Caucasian Knot" was informed about it today in law enforcement bodies of the Republic.
"Yusup Bogatyryov, 27, a resident of the Verkhniye Achaluki village of the Malgobek District, was detained by members of law enforcement bodies on Friday, September 8, in the course of operative and search actions. On that very day the detainee was delivered to the department of criminal investigation of the Malgobek District OVD for carrying out investigatory actions. The exact reasons of his death have not been established yet, and by preliminary data the incident was caused by a heart attack," a law enforcement officer has reported.
The interlocutor gave no answer to the question whether tortures had been applied to Bogatyryov.
It is necessary to note that after his detention several mass media published information, with reference to the law enforcement bodies of the Republic, that Bogatyryov was suspected of committing a number of crimes. According to power agents, during a search in his house a grenade and 1,282 cartridges of various calibres were confiscated.
