Mobilized man from Kabardino-Balkaria challenges sentence for evading military service
Emran Usmanov, a military serviceman, mobilized from the Prokhladnensky District, sentenced to two years in colony for evading his service, has refused to plead guilty and appealed against the sentence.
The Nalchik Military Court has found Usmanov guilty of evading military service and sentenced him to two years in penal colony, the "Gazeta Yuga" outlet reports.
Usmanov was mobilized in September 2022, and on August 25, 2023, he failed to appear at his military unit, staying at home in the village of Soldatskaya. Only on September 1, he voluntarily reported to the unit. The soldier did not admit his guilt, explaining that he was late for service due to illness and sought medical help at the hospital several times and was treated at home.
