Defence seeks medical treatment for man convicted of appealing to Kadyrov

Zakhar Zaripov, sentenced to five years of imprisonment for addressing the leader of Chechnya, has been diagnosed with cancer. The appeal lodged against the Zakhar Zaripov’s sentence has not yet been considered, his advocate reports.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that in January 2023, it became known that Zakhar Zaripov, a resident of the Khabarovsk Territory, was arrested on the charges of calling for terrorism. According to the investigators’ version, when addressing the leader of Chechnya in the “Live Journal”, Zakhar Zaripov called for the violation of the territorial integrity of Russia.

In his post “A Hint to Kadyrov”, the author claims that “the best Russian troops” are concentrated in Ukraine, while the capital and government bodies are “completely defenceless.” The author of the post also stated that “Lenin took Russia with the help of one and a half thousand people personally loyal to him,” and Kadyrov has “40,000 selected fighters” under his command. The post itself remains on the “LiveJournal”, but access to it is blocked and unavailable to Russian users.
