Servicewoman detained in Rostov-on-Don under treason case

A Rostov resident, who is a servicewoman of one of the units of the Southern Military District, used to transfer information about military facilities that are part of the District to the Ukrainian side, the FSB (Russian Federal Security Service) has informed.

According to investigators, the woman, who had served in the above military unit since January 2023, received an assignment from the intelligence service of the Ukraine's Defence Ministry and gathered information about the arsenals, bases and warehouses that are part of the above Military District. She sent this information to the above intelligence service via a messenger and was detained.

The article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Treason" provides for up to life imprisonment.

The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that on July 31, 2024, a court arrested for two months a resident of the Rostov Region, suspected of transferring information about the location of a military facility to the Ukrainian intelligence service.
