Law enforcers set Lysogorskaya village brothers free

Dmitry and Pavel Masenko are back at home; law enforcers have returned part of their property seized during the search that was conducted within the case of preparing a terror act, a female relative of the young men has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 6, law enforcers came to residents of the village of Lysogorskaya – brothers Dmitry and Pavel Masenko, as well as to Sergey Chikishov, a resident of the town of Georgievsk, and conducted searches within the case of preparing a terror act; they seized equipment, a Koran and their phones. Relatives of the detainees are confident of their innocence.

After the search of their home, Dmitry and Pavel Masenko were taken away by law enforcers to some unknown place; now, they have returned home, Darya Parshukova, their cousin, has informed.

Out of the seized property, they returned phones of Dmitry's mother and wife, as well as the key to the office of their father, an acupuncturist. "But they failed to return the keys and documents to the house under construction," Darya Parshukova has added.

Earlier, analysts suggested that special services were motivated to spread falsified reports about detentions of suspected terrorists in the Stavropol Territory in order to improve their reporting indicators and for propaganda purposes.

  • Demanding apology from Kadyrov becomes populist move

The appeal of the MPs unknown outside the Krasnodar Territory to the head of Chechnya has to do with an attempt to gain popularity, while hiding behind Alexander Bastrykin's protection. In their turn, political analysts and human rights defenders believe that the apology demand may turn against the MPs, if Kadyrov pays attention to it.
