On the 20th anniversary of the terror act in Beslan, at a meeting with Alexander Bastrykin, the chairman of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), the "Beslan Mothers" organization raised the issue of the use of tanks during the school storming, Aneta Gadieva, a co-chair of the organization's committee, has stated. The death cause of many hostages has not been established, Emma Tagaeva, another co-chair, has added.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on the 20th anniversary of the terror act, Elena Milashina, a journalist, had issued an investigation on the use of tanks during the school storming. According to the official version, the operative headquarters decided to use tanks when there were no more living hostages left in the school, but there were living terrorists. But it is not possible to establish where exactly in the school the hostages died and whether their deaths were the result of the shelling by law enforcers, since by the time investigators were allowed to the venue, bodies of hostages had been carried out into the yard.
The topic of tank fire at the Beslan School in 2004 was discussed during the meeting of "Beslan Mothers" with Alexander Bastrykin, Aneta Gadieva has explained.
The chance to save hostages existed during the first hour of the capture, according to Emma Tagaeva (Betrozova), a co-chair of the organization "Voice of Beslan". According to her version, witnesses' testimonies in court indicate that FSB agents distracted terrorists, buying time to prepare for the assault.
