Astrakhan resident publicly apologizes for shooting at a bus

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has posted a video in which a resident of Astrakhan has publicly apologized for shooting an air pistol at a bus with passengers.

According to the MIA's branch for the Astrakhan Region, the bus driver contacted the police with a complaint that an unknown man had fire  d at the bus, damaging the window; the passengers and the driver himself were not hurt.

The police have identified and detained the earlier convicted Astrakhan resident born in 2004, the branch has reported on its page in the "VKontakte" social network.

"I repent of what I did; I apologize to the citizens who were in the bus," the Astrakhan resident said in the video.

The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that on September 15, in Astrakhan, law enforcers brought two drivers to administrative sanctions for drifting at night in city streets; then they recorded a video with apologies to city residents for disturbing the public order.

The apologies of the two drivers detained in Astrakhan can hardly be called sincere, and forcing them to apologize violates their rights, public figures have noted.

Let us remind you that the practice of public apologies, adopted in Chechnya at the instigation of the head of the republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, has spread to other Russian regions.
